A hand pressed on a cave wall; a spacecraft slipping past the last planet and out into the dark. Between them lies the whole history of navigation, the long effort to know where we stood and what lay beyond the edge of the map.
Progression can be expressed through three lights: Cycle, the turning sky and the patterns that return; Space, our place on the map and among the stars; Time, the steady anchor that turns a sky into a position. Each episode carries a ring reflecting the lights' influence.
