CYCLE · SPACE · TIME
Who to blame for all of this

About

Cycle · Space · Time is written and built by Christopher Dunn. From orbital mechanics to tide tables, brass astrolabes to steam engines, mountain passes to mix tapes. Noticing patterns that kept showing up until they appeared less like a coincidence and more like something worth writing about.

Every page here is researched from primary sources, written by hand, and built from scratch: the layout, the motion, the small mechanical set-pieces that animate a two-hundred-year-old engine or a Roman water clock.

If you're still reading this far down an About page, you're operating at a level of thoroughness usually reserved for forensic accountants and people who read the safety warnings on a tube of toothpaste. But if you made it here, you probably realise that this isn't really a list of interesting things. It's taking dense and intricate ideas and making sense of them, expressing them to someone who's never met them before, without losing what made them interesting in the first place.
